About Us

Telarah Dog Training Inc. is a not-for-profit association which is run by volunteers, dedicated to responsible dog ownership and to the welfare of dogs.

We provide training in companion obedience, basic manners and puppy preparation for human society, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our focus is on reward-based training and positive reinforcement, with rewards including food, toys, and play interaction with the dog’s handler.

We are currently based at The Scout Hall in Jubilee St, East Maitland, 2323. Contact Us.

Classes are held at levels suitable for beginners (puppy and adult dog), intermediate and advanced levels, on most Saturdays between February and November inclusive. Visit our Training Page for more information.

Classes are not usually held on Public Holiday weekends, in the event of bad weather, or in December and January (due to holiday periods and unsuitably hot conditions).

Class times are posted towards the top of our Facebook Page, with notification of cancellations in the event of unsuitable weather conditions, see also Local Weather.

In addition to our committed instructors, we have a selection of books and DVDs for members to borrow from our library, and we can provide assistance and information covering a range of training and behavioural issues.
